The Legend of Zelda Gift Exchange
Round 7 - "Down Boy!" and "The Mentor" for guardianlunnaei
4th-Sep-2011 10:40 pm

Title: Down Boy!
By: dagronrat For: guardianlunnaei

Request: TP - Link and Midna (wolf or human)
Medium: pencil, watercolour pencils, drawing ink, soft pastels and fountain pen.
Game(s): Legend of Zelda -Twilight Princess
Characters: Princess Zelda, Midna(imp form), Midna(true form), Link, and Link (wolf form).
Rating: G
Warnings: Spoilers regarding Midna?
Creator’s Notes: When I got the prompt, I'd only just started a fresh play-through of Twilight Princess and witnessed the scene where Midna playfully tells Link that there's someone she'd like him to meet. Upon the encounter with the shrouded figure, Midna seems so amused, and I felt that this was a scene that told us a lot about how she considers Link. It was only natural for me to take inspiration from it. Also I wanted to use soft pastels for a change, and thought they'd be a good fit for this setting. :)

I also couldn't help myself and produced the following, more rough companion piece...

Title: The Mentor
Request: OoT - Impa and Zelda
Medium: graphite pencil, colours and some shading added in Photoshop Elements
Game: Legend of Zelda -Twilight Princess
Character(s)/Pairing: Princess Zelda, Impa
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Creator’s Notes: I'd initially intended to fit this idea into my main piece for this round of the zelda-exchange, but my chosen layout and medium didn't really allow for it. Thus, yes, it's set in the wrong game. I do still like the idea of Zelda having a mentor similar to OoT-Impa in Twilight Princess~. With a great coat why not? XD
Is actually a doodle done while at work, so most of the details were done from memory of doing my main piece and of my recent attempt at drawing Impa.
